Your gift ensures that ARI will continue to educate rural leaders from the global south for decades to come. After graduating from the ARI training program, rural leaders return to their homes, often focusing on sustainable agriculture in order to strengthen their communities. Graduates also engage in environmental conservation, education. microfinance, human rights promotion, and refugee support. They respond to grassroots needs as servant leaders, spreading ARI’s spirit of living together around the world.

If you wish to support ARI through planned giving, contact us to start a conversation. We gratefully accept “declarations of intent” that inform us of your planned gift ahead of time, and will happily assist you in drafting one. We can guide you through a range of options, before you meet with your legal counsel to revise estate planning documents.
Legacy bequest in your will or trust
You can provide for ARI’s future by making AFARI a beneficiary of your will or trust. Unrestricted gifts allow ARI to meet needs as they arise.
Your gift may be in the form of savings, personal belongings, securities or real estate. Sample language for such a gift:
I give and bequeath [$ sum, percentage of estate or description of property] to the American Friends of Asian Rural Institute, to be used in support of Asian Rural Institute programs.
Retirement plans and life insurance
You can also choose to name AFARI as a beneficiary to part or all of retirement fund assets or life insurance payments.
Designated gifts
If you wish to designate your gift for a specific project or program at ARI, contact us to discuss available options. Past examples include gifts to the Takami Scholarship Fund and for specific capital improvements.
