Scholarships for Rural Leaders
Scholarships cover most expenses for rural leaders who participate in the Asian Rural Institute curriculum. Tuition and board cost nearly $18,000 (U.S.) and the average cost of traveling to the ARI campus is $2300 (U.S.). Your scholarship support gift represents an investment in people who can bring about lasting community change in their home countries.
The Toshihiro Takami Scholarship Fund
Ellen and Jim Marsey established this endowment in 2016 with a $20,000 donation to honor the lifework of ARI’s Founder, Reverend “Tom” Takami. Over 100 supporters have endorsed their vision, allowing the fund to surpass $100,000 in just a few years. 5% of the Fund’s value is donated to ARI each year as scholarships for rural leaders.
