AFARI remembers John Manners

It is with a heavy heart that we share news of John Manners’ passing on June 28, 2022 after a long illness.  John was the son of the late Rev. Roger and Betsy Manners and leaves behind his brother, Roger and sisters, Lisa and Julia.

In 1982, John, along with his father and church member Colin Gershon, founded The American Friends of the Asian Rural Institute (AFARI). John held the position of Vice-President, and continued to serve on the board in varying roles until 2010.
